Exchange Students from Brawijaya University, Indonesia, are Welcome at the School

Assistant Professor Dr. Padungsak Suksa-Ard, Acting Dean of the School, joined the School’s administrative team and staff members majoring in ASEAN Studies of the Political Science Program in welcoming exchange students from Universitas Brawijaya, Indonesia, on Wednesday morning, March 13, 2024.

Under the supervision of Ajarn Abdulroya Panemalae and Ajarn Nisachon Chuchai, the three exchange students—Ihza Fi’lia, Prisilia Sundari, and Tengku Zhafirah Ayu Juanda—will spend three weeks at Walailak University. They shall engage in the coursework provided by the Political Science program and actively partake in student group activities and socio-cultural events arranged by university divisions and local communities in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Throughout the program, many political science students volunteer to assist in caring for the three exchange students, thereby fostering stronger relations between universities and among students.

Located in Malang, East Java Province, Brawijaya University is among Indonesia’s most prestigious institutions of higher education. Walailak University and Universitas Brawijaya have established an official academic cooperation agreement. Since then, the two institutions have engaged in many joint endeavours, with the School of Political Science and Public Administration serving as the primary organizing entity for these ongoing partnerships.

In addition to sending exchange students to Walailak University, Universitas Brawijaya instructors are instructing the Indonesian language online to Political Science students and providing a scholarship to participate in a short-term exchange student program at Universitas Brawijaya in the coming months.
