Welcome Event and a Meeting with Parents Before Sending Students to Study in Indonesia

On January 10, 2024, the Head of the Political Science Program, Assistant Professor Dr. Atthasit Sitthidamrong, and members of the ASEAN Studies major’s staff cordially met the parents of third-year ASEAN Studies majors. This occasion came as the students prepared to embark on their academic journey to the State University of Malang, located in Malang City, East Java Province, Indonesia.

Ajarn Atthasit extended a warm greeting to parents at this gathering on behalf of the School and Walailak University. He also conveyed his sincere wishes and encouragement to all students who were about to proceed on their upcoming study abroad activities. Participants were then briefed by ASEAN Studies staff members on the history of the Study Abroad program, which has been running continuously for almost two decades. Additionally, comprehensive information regarding the student’s prospective educational institution was furnished, along with a brief description of the educational arrangements orchestrated by the Political Science Program in collaboration with the State University of Malang. Guidelines for monitoring and supervising students were also deliberated upon during the meeting, along with the exchange of communication channels that will facilitate coordination and ensure the timely dissemination of news.

In pursuit of academic excellence, eight ASEAN Studies majors will travel to Indonesia for the duration of four months to study in Malang for the current academic year. The ‘Study Abroad’ program serves as an official operational strategy in which the students’ academic performance is integrated into their course grades within the Political Science curriculum structure.
