Congratulations to Dr. Trin Aiyara on Receiving the Journal of Contemporary Asia's Prestigious Prize

The School of Political Science and Laws congratulations to Dr. Trin Aiyara, a lecturer in the Political Science Program, on the announcement of an essay in which he is a co-author as the Journal of Contemporary Asia‘s runner-up for best article published in 2021.

Dr. Trin co-authored the article “Sick Tiger: Social Conflict, State–Business Relations and Exclusive Growth in Thailand,” which was published in the Journal of Contemporary Asia Volume 51, Issue 5 (2021) with Dr. Veerayooth Kanchoochat from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Japan, and Dr. Bank Ngamarunchot from the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Thailand.

According to the journal, the Editorial Board chose the best article and runner-up by considering how each article provides an alternative perspective on mainstream views on contemporary Asian issues and contributes to the development of theory, particularly on the role of the state, class analysis, power, and globalization.

The Journal of Contemporary Asia is a well-established refereed journal that has been published quarterly since 1970. It is a renowned publication in the subject of Asian Studies, publishing high-quality papers with academic citations, particularly in economic development, political economy, politics and power, and environmental issues.
