On September 30, 2021, the School of Political Science and Laws hosted a special forum with a special guest speaker for students enrolled in the POS-368 and POS64-444 courses on China’s Foreign Policy after WWII. The event was part of the active learning activities scheduled for students during semester 1/2021 in order to improve their knowledge by learning from experts in the area.

Mr. Issac C. C. Hsieh, Director of Political Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, was invited to participate the event by the School of Political Science and Laws. He gave an insightful talk on “China’s Foreign Policy from a Taiwanese Perspective.” The event, which was hosted online via the MS Team platform, provided the students with a hands-on chance to learn from expert diplomats with decades of experience working in the area of international relations with China.

Ms. Bongkot Phueakpan, a third-year student in the class, expressed her thoughts on the activity: “We had a fantastic time during the session with our guest speaker. We got the opportunity to ask our guest speaker questions and discuss thoughts about many subjects in English, allowing us to develop our English abilities. As one of the students participating in the session, I am really excited to have this conversation with Mr. Issac, who has firsthand working experience in the related areas, so that I may better grasp China’s Foreign Policy from many perspectives.”
