The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Head of East Asia Affairs Division Delivered a Special Lecture to Our IR Students

September 13, 2021

On September 2, 2021, the School of Political Science and Laws hosted a special lecture forum with a special guest speaker for students enrolled in the POS-368 and POS64-444 China’s Foreign Policy courses. The event was part of the active learning activities for semester 1/2021, during which students may learn from a subject matter expert.

Mr. Kosol Sathitthammachit, Head of East Asia Affairs Division, Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was asked to give an insight presentation on the subject “Bilateral Relations Between Thailand and the People’s Republic of China”. The event, which was hosted online via the MS Team platform, provided our students with a hands-on chance to learn from professional diplomats with a decade of experience working in the area of Thai international relations with China.

Ms. Ploypailin Thinkhaotor, one of the class’s third-year students, expressed her thoughts on the activity: “I felt extremely delighted to get an opportunity to attend the discussion today with Mr. Kosol. More than just theories and lessons from our regular sessions were gained from the event. We could also learn more about other points of view and analytical abilities from experienced diplomats. This has definitely helped me to think differently in order to investigate some of the aspects that I am unsure about. I may also discover new ways of thinking and find new sources of inspiration for my future endeavors.”
