Walailak University's School of Political Science and Public Administration Signs MOA with University of Mataram's Department of International Relations

Walailak University’s School of Political Science and Public Administration signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of International Relations, University of Mataram, Indonesia, yesterday. The signing ceremony took place at the Khoa Luang Chamber, Cooperative Education Building. The MOA aims to promote cooperation between the two institutions, such as student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, co-hosted international conferences, and collaborative training programs.

                Representatives from Walailak University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, Acting Director of the Center for International Affairs, and Assistant Professor Rachadatip Uppathampracha, Deputy Dean of the School of Political Science and Public Administration, welcomed Mr. Syaiful Anam, S.IP., M.Sc, Head of the ASEAN Study Center, University of Mataram, for the signing ceremony.

               During his speech, Mr. Syaiful Anam expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from Walailak University. “My first impression of Walailak University was that it is very large and green,” he said. He also emphasized the mission to expand international collaboration between the two universities.

               The University of Mataram is a public university located in the city of Mataram on Lombok Island, Indonesia. Established in 1962, the university currently has 10 faculties: education and teacher training, economics, engineering, mathematics and sciences, agriculture, food and agroindustrial technology, medicine, animal science, law, and post graduate. According to Times Higher Education’s Impact Ranking 2022, the University of Mataram was ranked at 1001+ among 1,406 universities worldwide. The university has around 33,000 registered students, 200 of whom are international students, and has developed intentional cooperation with many universities around the world. Walailak University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Mataram in June last year.
