An ASEAN Student's Article on the Enchantment of Thailand's Northern Region was Published in Indonesia

May 7, 2021

The fantastic weather of Thailand’s northern region is described in this Indonesian-language article “Sezuk di Kebun Teh Chiang Rai” (Cold Weather in Chiang Rai Tea Plantations) written by Khemsorn Dejraksa, a third-year student of the ASEAN Studies Program, the School of Political Science and Laws. It focuses on exposing readers to a major tourist site in Chiang Rai, the Choui Fong Tea Plantation, the province’s main tea producing facility that has been in operation for more than 40 years. Furthermore, the article cites Wat Rong Khun, a pristine white temple that collects and displays several wonderful paintings. It is yet another tourist destination in northern Thailand.

Khemsorn produced this article while taking an Indonesian language course with Indonesian lecturers from the State University of Malang during the second and third semesters of the 2020 academic year. Despite the fact that the COVID-19 epidemic prevented students from traveling to Indonesia to study, the vigorous training enables students to develop their Indonesian language abilities by leaping and hopping.

This article was published in the February 21, 2021 edition of the Surya newspaper, which is extensively circulated throughout Indonesia’s East Java.
