Study Abroad Program

The School of Political Science and Laws has created and provided opportunities for its students to study abroad through a variety of methods. Students may study abroad in both short courses and full-time programs. This is owing to a strong belief that studying abroad would be able to improve students’ potential by leaps and bounds in a short period of time.

For full-time study, the Political Science Program has designed in the curriculum for students of the ASEAN Studies major to go to ASEAN countries to study languages in accordance with the language in which each student was taught. Students will travel to study abroad in the third semester of their third year, according to the study plan. They should attend classes and study according to a study plan devised by the Political Science Program and its foreign university partners. The grades will finally be integrated into each student’s learning structure.

The Political Science Program has formed academic collaboration agreements with a number of ASEAN universities. Every university is prepared to welcome students to study. Currently, universities participating in this cooperation program include the following: 1) State University of Malang, Indonesia; 2) State University of Surabaya, Indonesia; 3) University of Trunojoyo Madura, Indonesia; 4) Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia; 5) Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia; and 6) Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Malaysia.

In addition to language and academic instruction with native-speaking teachers in the classroom, learning at these universities includes art and culture workshops, field trips, community homestays, volunteer and social service activities. The host universities will assign native tutors or buddies to each student during their study abroad experience.
