On Monday, July 4, 2022, the International Relations Program of the School of Political Science and Public Administration had an opening ceremony for an online Thai language instruction project for Yogyakarta State University’s students. The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Surasit Vajirakachorn, who formally launched this project and welcomed attendees, including staff members from both universities and students wishing to study Thai.

This project to teach Thai to Yogyakarta State University’s students was a practical implementation of the academic partnership outlined in the official Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two universities. The continuation of this year’s effort was motivated by the success of previous year’s endeavors. This year’s activities would take place between July and August of 2022. There were ten Yogyakarta State University students enrolled in Thai language classes. The 30 hours of study were split into 15 courses of two hours each. Certificates will be awarded to Indonesian students based on their academic performance at the conclusion of the project.
