Rusamilae Journal Published an Academic Article by an ASEAN Studies Program Student

A scholarly article by Nichada Praparat titled “Female Rock Musicians and Indonesian Conservative Muslims: The Case of ‘Voice of Baceprot’ from West Java” has been accepted for publication in the journal Rusmilae, Volume 42, Issue 3 ( September-December 2021). Nichada is in her fourth year in the School of Political Science and Public Administration’s ASEAN Studies Program. She conducted research and authored this article for the ASEAN Studies Senior Project course, focusing on the analysis of religious dynamics in contemporary Indonesian society by discussion of the views, expressions, and most popular success of the female rock band “Voice of Baceprot.” Nichada submitted her article to the journal for review till it was approved and published.

Rusamilae is a semi-academic journal published by Prince of Songkla University. It is one of the longest-running publications covering the social and cultural aspects of southern Thailand and Southeast Asia, particularly the archipelago regions.
